The lock pins are shear tested to 20,000 working lbs. The hitch is tested to 18,000 working lbs. Rated at 10,000 lbs, limited by ball. The self locking system makes installation easy without having to get under the truck, easy to do while standing behind it. These locking pins extend from the inside out so you don't have a locking or non locking pin that can be fooled with by vandals or theives. Because the key won't come out of it until it's locked you won't forget to put your pin in like a conventional hitch.
